Why I Chose to Build Independently

As Bankers University continued to grow, I was approached by representatives connected with much larger edtech businesses in bank exam space.

The discussions revolved around expanding my reach and becoming part of a much larger ecosystem.

I was told that my audience could grow much faster.

However, I also realised that following that path they offered would require me to promote their products and services that I personally did not believe would genuinely help serious bank exam aspirants. I understood they wanted me to halt the Beginner to Banker course.

That wasn't why I had started teaching.

I have always believed that if I recommend something to a student, it should be because I truly believe it will improve their preparation—not because it benefits a business.

So I politely declined.

I wanted complete freedom over what I taught, how I taught, and what I recommended to students.

At the time, I thought declining those opportunities simply meant continuing on my own journey.
